Greetings from Mrs. Newton! This is my 30th year teaching at Carroll Catholic. I taught 25 of those years with a 5th grade homeroom as well as teaching reading/language arts to 6th,7th, and 8th graders. This is my 5th year teaching first graders. I still have SO much to learn regarding these little ones! One thing I've learned from teaching in the lower grades, is they LOVE to learn and have so much enthusiasm! It is absolutely infectious. In addition to teaching them the basics to succeed academically, I hope to instill in them compassion and acceptance of others and appreciation and love for Jesus.
My husband of 25 years, Gene, is the principal at Mt. Pulaski Grade School, and our son, Kenny, is a senior at ISU pursuing a degree in Special Education. When not in the classroom, my passion is cooking & baking. I also enjoy traveling, going to musicals, and shopping.
